Run Through the Night in Zvolen

Every spring, over 250 runners, lights, and good vibes fill the evening streets of Zvolen. Over the years, the “Run Through the Night in Zvolen” has become one of the most popular sports traditions at the Technical University in Zvolen (TUZVO).

The goal of the event is to connect students, faculty, active athletes, and city residents through a shared experience. The route leads through the historic city center, past Zvolen’s landmarks, and finishes where it all began – in front of TUZVO. Weeks of volunteer work go into preparing the event, and with the support of our partners, we are able to organize a safe, well-marked, energetic event each year, complete with refreshments, accompanying programs, and a rich raffle.

Besides rewarding the winners, we also celebrate those who run with a smile – after all, it’s not just about time, but about friendship, community, and the joy of movement. The event is held annually with the support of the university administration and our partners, who believe in meaningful student initiatives.

The “Run Through the Night in Zvolen” is proof that even a student-organized event can reach a professional level – when the energy of young people, trust from partners, and institutional support come together.
